Dastardly deeds and Fear. [Oct 1, 2003] Uggabugga provides two recent transcripts from conservative talkshows featuring Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh waxing on the Plume scandal. Uggabugga titles these transcripts "Can you smell the fear?" pts. 1 & 2. 1) In Limbaugh's back and forth with a caller he says this: "This doesn't approach Watergate. This doesn't go beyond Watergate. This happens fifty times a year. This doesn't approach the level of seriousness you think it is." But, wait, Mr. RNC Chairman, himself, said something different on Hardball last night! Hardball (MSNBC - 9/30/03):--Is Limbaugh scared or is he obvlivious? He's not an idiot, though some people might think he is. He's just been on the attack for so long and the Democrats have been scared pussies for so long, Rush just doesn't know what to do in the face of something like this. He doesn't understand defense, all he knows is offense and how to attack. The same old shit about the Miguel Estrada filibuster and Bill Clinton's penis over and over is tiring and boring. More on judicial nominations here at Political Strategy . org (this was posted Feb. 17, 2003): So when some idiot conservative cries about Democrats blocking Bush's judicial nominees, you tell them: 2) In Hannity's monologue, he says this: "It is clear in this country we do not have - there is a party, there is a group of people that do not deserve to be in power. They must be defeated politically, because if they are not it is our entire way of life that is ultimately put in jeopardy. Do you not see that? It's frustrating. I'm going to build up my patience. I have the capacity, I've done it before. Every once in a while it hits a breaking point with me and I just can't take it any more." I can't take it any more either, Hannity. We need to get the people who are risking the lives of all American citizens out of office. They can go fight in a war if they want to, but how about they go fucking fight it? Are our soldiers making money hand over fist because they have stock in Halliburton and Bechtel? No, the administration and the people tied closely to the administration are, of course. Let's get Bush out of the White House. More on cronyism at Arms and the Man, who's making a killing on killing in Iraq. And of course, Paul Krugman from yesterday asking us, "Who's sordid now?"
